About Licensing and Trademarks

The Licensing and Trademarks Program was established in July 1991 to promote, regulate and protect the commercial use of the university's federally trademarked names and identifying marks both on and off campus.

Any student, faculty, student organization or administrative office that is interested in using the George Washington University wordmarks and logos must use a licensed vendor and get the design approved by the Licensing and Trademarks department. Artwork must be submitted through the Artwork Approval Form with the name of the vendor selected before merchandise can be produced.
